## Title and registration: your proof of ownership

After you buy your vehicle from Castle Hyundai Oak Lawn, you'll receive the **title** (official proof of ownership) and complete **registration** so you can legally drive.

## Illinois title & registration timeline

Our dealership handles a lot of the paperwork on your behalf. You'll leave with a temporary registration permit that lets you drive immediately. The formal title and permanent registration come from the Illinois Secretary of State-typically within 2-4 weeks.

**What you'll need:**
- Valid ID and proof of residency
- Proof of insurance (required before registration)
- Sales contract and bill of sale from Castle Hyundai Oak Lawn
- Any trade-in title (if you're trading a vehicle)
- Lien holder information (if you're financing)

## Out-of-state or moving?

If you live outside Illinois or plan to register in another state, our Finance team will provide all the documents needed to register with your home state's DMV. Timelines and requirements vary by state, so check your DMV website for specifics.

## Get the details during purchase

Our Finance team will walk you through exactly what to expect and when. If questions come up later, **call (708) 422-9300** and we're happy to help clarify any aspect of your registration.
